What is the Codice Fiscale?
The Italian Codice Fiscale (Fiscal code) is a code which identifies a precise person only.
It consists of 16 characters (numbers and letters) on the basis of your first name, family name, date and place of birth. It is used by the Italian Public Administration to identify all those living in Italy.
It is required also to open a bank account, buy a sim card,apply to the NHS.
Moreover it is necessary in any official procedure such as university enrolment, renting a flat or for the residence permit application.
